Revo Director, Alan Anthony, reports that the Scottish Government have just issued the Town Centre Action Plan Review. www.futuretowns.scot
As part of the review, Revo had given evidence on the wide-ranging subject of town centre regeneration. This followed on from Revo’s collaboration with the Scottish Government on their published national guidance: A Vision for High Street Regeneration
We asked for:
– Each town to create a town centre vision created with community, public and private sectors with prioritised investment to reflect these plans.
– A stronger “enforcement” of Town Centre First principles and a levelling of the field through tax/rates and policy.
– Support to enable exemplar blueprint projects demonstrating community empowerment and community wealth generation.
We are delighted to see that all of our recommendations are reflected in the final report.
