Why did you want to enter The Revo’s?

It is the most relevant industry body covering my area of specialism in retail and leisure destinations and the broad industry behind them. It has always been the voice of my sector and winning an award is a badge of honour for the teams involved.

What makes your entry standout?

The long journey to find the right format and upsize a major occupier for a true flagship store in the region. As with Metrocentre, Zara are looking for bigger, better flagship stores to showcase their products and this letting exemplifies that. From the landlord side this letting anchors both levels and takes in long term void redundant space. The frontage is colossal which showcases the brand for shoppers. The newly opened Flannels / Sportsdirect / Everlast Gym in the former Debenhams transforms this section of the scheme.

How do you envision the future of your industry, and how do you hope to contribute to it?

Retail and leisure in the UK never stands still. Consumers are always hungry for new and interesting concepts with ever changing tastes and some times limited brand loyalty. As a property professional focusing on the Landlords side, I strive to bring new domestic and international concepts to the destinations I lease but with a firm focus on what the local consumer wants. The future will more mixed use – medical and well being uses I believe will start to become bigger occupiers of traditional shopping centre space.
