Why did you want to enter The Revo’s?
Because when your city turns 100, you can’t just sit quietly in the corner – you have to throw a proper party. Celebrating a Century was our way of joining Stoke-on-Trent’s centenary celebrations with style, spirit and a budget that could barely stretch to a birthday card. Entering The Revo’s felt like the perfect opportunity to share how, with £4,500, a handful of brilliant partners and a kettle or two, we turned a local milestone into a record-breaking community celebration.
What makes your entry standout?
We like to think of it as big impact on a teabag budget. Instead of billboards and pricey campaigns, we brewed up a Guinness World Record tea party, mural makeovers and community art exhibitions – all fuelled by partnerships, creativity and an awful lot of enthusiasm. Every element was designed to celebrate Stoke’s heritage while giving something back. It’s proof that when you pour passion into a project (and a few hundred cups of tea), you can achieve something unforgettable without spending a fortune.
How do you envision the future of your industry, and how do you hope to contribute to it?
We believe the future of retail lies in connection, not competition. Centres like ours have the power to be cultural hubs – where people come to feel proud of where they live, not just to tick off a shopping list. At The Potteries Centre, we’re proving that collaboration beats cash every time. By working with local artists, students and community partners, we’re helping to redefine what a modern shopping centre can be: creative, inclusive and brimming with civic pride.
