Why did you want to enter The Revo’s?
All Over The Shop at Metquarter represents a fresh, community-driven approach to modern retail, and we felt they deserved recognition on a national stage. AOTS was built to challenge the idea of what a high street store can be, combining independent retail, creative services, workshops, and genuine community connection under one roof. Entering the awards is an opportunity to highlight the impact AOTS has had in such a short time, supporting over 50 independent traders, creating a welcoming space for customers of all ages, and helping to strengthen Liverpool’s creative community.
What makes your entry standout?
AOTS has a commitment to meaningful, human-centred retail: from repairs, alterations, and bespoke commissions to inclusive workshops that build skills, confidence, and connection. Every part of AOTS is designed to serve both traders and customers with authenticity and care. In a challenging economic climate, they have not only grown but thrived, expanding their trader network, increasing footfall, and launching a successful online store. AOTS’s resilience, innovation, and community-first approach make it a standout example of how independent retail can flourish.
How do you envision the future of your industry, and how do you hope to contribute to it?
We envision the future of retail as community-led, experience-driven, and built around creativity, and genuine human connection, all things we champion at Metquarter. As customers increasingly look for meaningful interactions, ethical choices, and products with a story, the industry will look to shift towards models that champion local makers and sustainability. All Over The Shop is leading that change by proving that independent retail can thrive when it is collaborative and customer-centred. Their focus is on creating adaptable spaces that support emerging talent, offer practical services that extend the life of products, and bring people together through workshops and creative experiences.
