On behalf of our members, Chair of Revo Scotland Alan Anthony has given his signature to this letter, making Revo one of the 12 retail representatives and industry bodies encouraging the Scottish Government to consider a permanent business rates discount for retailers.

The letter sets out clearly how the Scottish Government has made positive steps in supporting our industry through business rate policy changes and reliefs. However, following the UK Budget in November, it is clear that the Scottish Budget on 13 January needs to follow suit in delivering a permanent rate discount for all retailers. The sector is a huge contributor to the Scottish economy, and without change, there is a risk that retail here becomes less viable than its English and Welsh counterparts.
