Why did you want to enter The Revo’s? 

The Stretford Socials have had a transformative impact on the community and nurtured a sense of civic pride in Stretford town centre. These monthly events not only create valuable opportunities for small businesses and provide affordable family activities, but they also serve as a vital platform for local charities and community groups to connect with residents. Through these events, we’ve built a stronger, more engaged community and maintained open dialogue during a challenging period of development. We chose to enter the Revo’s to celebrate the collective effort behind these events. It’s a recognition of the dedication and hard work of everyone involved—from the event organisers and the operational team to the local traders—who have contributed to boosting community spirit and pride in Stretford town centre.

What makes your entry standout?

The Stretford Socials have evolved significantly from when they first started, adapting to the ever-changing development landscape of the town centre and operating within a limited budget. Despite these challenges, the team consistently delivers vibrant, dynamic events with fresh themes and activities each month. Our ability to remain flexible while maintaining a high level of engagement is a testament to the passion and creativity that drives the initiative. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees and traders highlights the powerful role these events play in uniting the community, even in the midst of ongoing development.

How do you envision the future of your industry, and how do you hope to contribute to it?

We believe the future of place-based marketing and community engagement lies in focusing on creating authentic, lasting connections between people and the spaces they call home. With that vision, Stretford Socials will continue as a permanent fixture in the town centre, soon relocating to the newly developed public square, Lloyd Square, named by our community during our Stretford Socials events, once construction is completed in 2025. Our goal is to keep championing local businesses, charities, and community groups through these free, inclusive neighbourhood events. By providing accessible experiences that celebrate local culture, we aim to strengthen civic pride and contribute to the sustainable growth of Stretford town centre.
