What To Expect.

James Taylor and Chris Ives will share lessons learned from recently completed and current repurposing projects, including Eastgate in Basildon, Prince Bishops Place in Durham and Middleton Grange in Hartlepool. They will explore the commercial and delivery challenges faced, including from the perspective of advising local authorities. 

Andrea MacGregor-Barbour will look at the key planning ingredients to success drawing on Lichfields experience across the UK, including The Riverwalk in Durham and the transformation of the Howells department store in Cardiff.

Meet The Speakers. 

  

James Taylor, Regional Director and Group Head of Planning, Citrus Group

James is a town planner by background with experience in both the public and private sectors and now a principal in real estate company Citrus Group. James leads various development projects and heads up their Durham office.

Chris Ives, Director, R3

Chris is a chartered surveyor with 34 years’ experience as a specialist in urban regeneration, delivery strategy and delivery vehicles. He has worked as a consultant to local authorities, combined authorities and Development Corporations over the last decade helping clients prepare and implement delivery strategy’s for complex mixed use town centre renewal across the UK.

Andrea MacGregor-Barbour, Associate Director, Lichfields

Andrea joined Lichfields having previously been the Town Planning Manager at M&S. She has a strong commercial focus dealing with  store acquisitions; the redevelopment of stores, including change of use and mixed use development and many operational issues. Her work at Lichfields is for commercial clients including retail, food and beverage and leisure operators mainly in London and the South of England.

Jonathan Wallace,Senior Director, Chair, Lichfields 

Jonthan is one of the most highly-respected and experienced planning advisers on town centre and retail matters in the UK, and a leading light on the repurposing of shopping centres. His work has included The Riverwalk and Prince Bishop’s Place in Durham, Middleton Grange in Hartlepool; and the Stockton Waterfront urban park.
