The government has published a summary of the consultation responses that informed its decision to extend the rent moratorium until March 2022, revealing how far apart tenants and landlords are on the best way forward.

Just under 90% of landlords were in favour of allowing tenant protection measures to lapse on 30 June. By contrast, almost exactly the same proportion of tenants were against letting measures expire.
