Lucy McGowan-Scanlon, Associate Director in the Retail Agency Team at JLL:

“Lucy originally came from a retail background, working through the likes of Arcadia and Debenhams, both of which got her well accustomed to the ever changing retail landscape. She moved directly in to commercial property leasing as the world reopened following the pandemic; when many stores were left vacant overnight. She used her experience of repurposing spaces in a role to help initially fill the expansive voids for the short term, while long term strategies were established.

At JLL she works a hybrid role, across their London and National Shopping Centre Team, working for clients including TFL, Hammerson, Global Mutual, Sovereign Centros, Ellandi and most recently joining the team working on the leasing of Westfield.  Lucy was also recently appointed on the acquisition pipeline for retail brand, Knoops.

She was inspired to join the Revo Hub Committee, encouraged by her own experience of joining a new industry. Lucy says ‘the opportunity to work in retail property and help shape our shopping destinations has been one of the best decisions I have ever made, butmoving in to a new industry was incredibly daunting! I know how challenging it can be coming in without prior connections, hindering your ability to network, meet likeminded people, share and discuss topics of interest. Therefore it only seems fitting that I seize the opportunity to be a part of the Revo Hub and take a responsibility in introducing others to a network where they can benefit from such things.’ She will also be sharing a breadth of insight from the many opportunities she is afforded working at JLL, from interacting with their retail teams globally, joining regular ESG / Sustainability updates and by sharing valuable news from their experienced data and insights team.”
